Carboxy therapy was discovered in 1932 in France, after patients had been bathing in carbon-rich pools to help aid wound healing and circulatory diseases such as Raynaud’s Syndrome. In the 1950’s French doctors began injecting carbon dioxide to treat cellulite.
Carboxy therapy is now carried out using a gel and carboxy mask to infuse carbon dioxide into the skin.
