In 1911 a Canadian inventor named Anna Taylor patented artificial eyelashes. The invention includes strip lashes and glue-on lashes that were made using human hair. A few years later a German hairdresser Karl Nessler provided false eyelash services in a New York salon. Eyelash extensions today are one of the most popular beauty treatments that there is.
Eyelash extensions are waterproof and weightless, they can last up to 4-6 weeks as they shed with the natural eyelash. Eyelash infills are recommended every 2-3 weeks dependent on how long the last. This is based on the correct aftercare from the client.
Each artificial lash is placed directly onto one natural eyelash using a high-quality glue. There are various glues available to purchase which require different drying times, ranging from 3-15 seconds. You must ensure when purchasing glue that it is EU regulated and safe for use around the eyes. This would mean a glue with low fumes to ensure it is not unpleasant for the client.
